The Greatest Kid

~~ The Greatest ~~

I am but a little boy
Baseball is my life and joy
Sitting here in the dugout
Concentrating I hear them shout

I can hear the call
Of cracking bat and screaming ball
Of awe-struck crowds and watching eyes
Of people staring, mesmerized

Every kid's wish is for that homerun
This game can be so much fun
Staring out at the centerfield
My mind is racing, it will not yeild

Will I hit the ball a country mile
Can I make my MawMaw & Pawpaw smile
I'm just a kid--to me its a game
To my family they see me in the Hall of Fame
